Summer Break Means Zero Privacy
Summer sounds relaxing until your kids are home 24/7 and somehow louder than they were all school year.
The snacks never stop.
Someone is always wet.
Your house starts sounding like a YouTube autoplay playlist mixed with arguing and a dog always barking in the background.
And privacy? Gone.
The funny part is you never realize how much your routine depends on those little quiet gaps in the day until summer hits and they completely disappear.
And honestly? That level of constant stimulation is exhausting.
Some parents can handle nonstop noise all day long and barely react.
BUT others hear:
the TV,
an iPad,
someone yelling “mom,”
the neighbors kids ... and suddenly parents nervous system feels like it’s about to explode 💥
If you know, you know. That's when cannabis becomes part of the reset for some.
Not in a “let me disappear from my responsibilities” kind of way.
More like:
“Can I please bring the volume of the world down by like 20% for a second?”
That’s the part people don’t really talk about honestly.
A lot of adults are overstimulated. Constantly.
Work. Notifications. Parenting. Noise. Summer chaos. Group texts. People touching you all day.
Some people regulate naturally. Others need more intentional resets.
Trying to create little moments of calm inside a house that constantly sounds like someone dropped a fork, started a cartoon, and asked for snacks all at the exact same time.
If your version of surviving summer includes finding small ways to reset and regulate while still showing up fully for your family? You're probably doing better than you think. And during seasons where privacy basically disappears, creating intentional routines and boundaries at home starts mattering even more.
